ME
Written by Deborah Shepard

Did you see the writings on the back of the running feather
Great tales of long ago, where forefathers walked in this land
How is the name is given, Its after my first object I touched in my little life
Oh touched the great deer, my mother said as I ran into the forests behind, I was more swift than an eagle
So I got the journey name "RunningDeer"
My story begins as I was so young
The dreams I had I saw in visions dreams of life long ago
Touch the majestic mountains, Fly with eagles
See the kachina dolls, as my angels of native sight
Life with elders to learn of the old ways
The candles I would light would be the children's lights
Kiss the nights the serenity of the night skies as I sleep
With visions, passage is quick to the past peoeple
Come to the journey with me and learn of the Cherokee ways
The great fires are lit for the story telling with windchimes and great horned owls
Hear the songs chants of the women as they foretell the life long ago
See the writings on the wall, My family speaks this to me, I hear them, see the great white buffalo!!!!!

Man in the Mirror
Written by Deborah Shepard

Who is the man in the mirror?
That I see each day from sunrise to sunset
He brings me laughter happiness and love so true
Who is that man in the mirror, is that you?

Who is that man in the mirror?
Is he an angel, a child, a friend
Is he from heaven sent
With a tie of ribbons all around your head

Who is this man who I love so much
Who is this child who is so in touch
The one who loves all he meets and touches heart along the streets
Secret gardens of cowboys and army and rides to the moon
Why did he have to grow up and leave so soon

I will miss the precious one who lights the night candles
With his smile and hugs goodnight to me
I will miss the only son I shall ever have
He has been my joy and my angel sent to me from above

He has been my inspiration, believing in me so much
Always as my child seeking the Infinite touch
Never have I seen a child so true
To just believe in loving and being his only "You"

Awakening
Written by Deborah Shepard

Bare branches cozy they hide from me
Among all the fresh cloak of green grass

Daffodils pierce my hearts past

Emerging straight from the paths of life
Desires emerge to hold the candles

See me, I am life.

Whispers
Written by Deborah Shepard

The sunset reefs I wait for thee to come,
its darkened clouds succombs my desires for thee
When its time I pass the rose to you
all but love is last, I kiss the hand of the one I hold dear to heart
when its last but before I leave my soul
sheds a tear for you to stop listen
Whisper my darling
I love you, whisper I love you
I am here, see me, I am but the dragonfly.

Time
Written by Deborah Shepard

Could you but hold the hands of time
to whisper a precious moment with love

The murmering solitude of a kiss

Could you but hold a tender love.

To just travel in the souls realm
Of memories or touch a rose of beauty,

I can see the heavens as they part

I am but the rain
Hear me as I fall on the heavens.

The Beach
Written by Deborah Shepard

The murmering surf and the rain
the sunset seen through a cypress branch
The tangy vesper air breezes of the oceans
past or a whiff of the tall pines with mellowed ageless branch
these are my barefoot promises to my soul.

Angels
Written by Deborah Shepard

The silent tears fall from your eyes to me,
I feel them as you are distant with time.

Why is the darkness come so soon from the past?

When we will be together again in harmony and heart, I ask.

The slumber is awakened by the souls entrance to you.

Capture me with a net of love, I am close
See me, I am the air

Goodbye
Written by Deborah Shepard

The nite whispers are there with you as you sleep
I will hear your soul as it speaks
Why do you seek me to leave?
I am near, I won't leave but the morning,
My soul reaches in the mist of the heavens,
I cannot touch you, it's the realm of rainbows.
Come to me and seek me, I wait in the heavens.
Where is the silver cord I attached to you?
You are but gone, I am the wind, hear my name.

Just Friends
Written by Deborah Shepard

Listen as it comes, the soft rains,
the smell of the soft earth beneath our feet.

As we walk together down the beaches,
the sand glistens with each sparkle of sun.

I wait by the waters edge and see the shells.
The starfish, sandollars, all lain to pick up.

At last we are just friends, come hold my hand,
I am with you.

Feelings
Written by Adelle Beveridge

As lonely day's go by,
feeling empty inside.
With you no longer with me,
My companion, my guide.

For I loved you each day,
In the best ways I could.
Now forever, not knowing,
Did it do any good?

Did I make you feel loved?
Or just push you away?
Maybe one day you'll hold me,
And tell me you'll stay.

For how do you feel?
Do you still care for me?
Please tell me you love me
and together we'll be.

I know we can make it,
we've always gotten by.
For my life is with you,
And without you I'll die.

As I lie in my bed,
Feeling lonely,
I'd sigh.
And slowly but surely,
I'd weep and I'd cry.

For each tear is a memory of us til this day,
Each tear is a part of me,
Fading away.

And that's all I'll have now,
And that's all there will be.
They say time is a healer,
So I'll wait,
And I'll see.

So remember "I love you",
And I'll alway's be there,
To have and to hold you,
Should you ever care.
