Notes: I took a picture in the Whaley backyard in May 2002. My camera was set to the
wrong year, so every roll of film I took on the trip is dated as 2001. I used a Yashica Zoomate 140SE 35mm camera using Fujifilm 200. The photo was taken about 8:00p.m. The temperature and humidity were not recorded, it was overcast and dry. We were on a tour which took us to several haunted places around San Diego, Whaley House was our last stop. It is not the only unusual picture from that evening, but to me, one of the most puzzling because more than one thing is going on in the picture. The white lights in the upper right hand side are street lights from a street over. It is the red light rods to the forefront and the white swirling on the left that need explanation. Because the light of day was almost gone, flash was used. If you look at the iris leaves to the forefront, you can see that they are in fact in focus. The area of the yard where the photo was taken is believed to be very active with paranormal activity. As we walked through it there were many cold spots. This was not my first visit to Whaley House, and I have taken many photos on each visit, day and night. Inside the house a lot weird things happen to otherwise capable photographers, really out of focus pics, light leak, and drained batteries. I appreciate any and all comment. |
