| May 2001 -- Something downright scary happened in the back bedroom when I layed down for a nap in the late afternoon. I couldn't believe my eyes! I'd only been in there for about 10 minutes max. and was just drifting off to sleep when I heard a fairly loud knock/bang... it sounded like someone struck the wood at the foot of the bed with a heel of a shoe or something wooden. I snapped awake and looked over my shoulder (I was laying on my stomach) where the noise had come from and I saw what looked like SMOKE hovering over me! It pretty much filled the room, but was concentrated over the bed where I was laying. I was thinking, "Oh my God, there is a fire!?" But in the back of my mind, I was thinking, "Oh my God, I think this is ecto!!"
Needless to say, it freaked me out, so I hurriedly got up and got out of there! I could feel this 'smoke' as I walked through it to get to the bedroom door... I could even feel it hit my eyeballs! It didn't burn or sting my eyes like normal smoke would, nor did it even smell like smoke - it just felt 'heavy', like the air in the bathroom after a hot shower does or after a storm, when the air is filled with moisture. As I was leaving the room, I looked back before I shut the door and could see the 'smoke' lazily swirling over the bed. I came into the other room, told Mare what happened, then went back to the bedroom, opened the door and looked in again and could still see this stuff, still slowly swirling in the air. I checked back maybe 10 minutes later and the air in the room was as clear as a bell! The entire incident had me so rattled, I didn't think to get pictures! ::kick kick::
True, there are smokers in the house, but the door to this particular bedroom is always shut and the air was clear when I went in to lay down and I had shut the door behind me. Plus, the air conditioning had been running during this time.
