| I was about 16-17 and a girlfriend with whom I worked was spending the night at my house one evening. We had gone to bed and were laying there talking before we fell asleep. She was telling me about something that really bothered her about the house she and her family had just moved into. Apparently, when she was alone in her house, she would her noises coming from the vent, like scratching and movement. It really scared her. She didn't know what to do, nor did I. I went on to relay some of the events that had taken place (up to that point) in my house.
We finally got tired enough to fall asleep, so we're laying there completely silent and relaxed, when my pull down window shade suddenly snapped up, making a very loud "zip" noise. It sent us running out of my room (I don't think our feet touched the ground!), screaming at the top of our lungs. Now, this girl could scream, and so can I, so together, we should have awakened everyone in the house! My parents' bedroom door was quite close to mine; we even ran toward their door and into the bathroom right next to it, all the while screaming our heads off. We huddled in the bathroom for a few minutes til we got hold of ourselves. I fully expected my mom or dad to open up their door to ask what the heck was going on. Nope. I never even heard them make a noise.
After a few minutes, we went back into my room (she made me go first, of course). I turned on the light and had to climb up on the edge of the bed to get hold of the end of the shade, as it was wedged between itself and the wall, and pulled it down again. I remember feeling "watched" and that kinda spooked me. We were still a bit shaken, but managed to get to sleep.
We wrote it off as just something that happened by itself, and perhaps so, but why did it happen as we're telling ghostie stuff and why didn't anyone hear us scream so loud and for so long!? Tina was amazed that we didn't wake my parents. So am I!
