Blue Gardens
Submitted by: Peggy Hershberger
I married very young and my new husband and I moved into one of the nicer apartments in town, Blue Gardens. My Grandmother and Grandfather had just passed, I was pregnant, hormonal too say the least.

One day, I was sitting on the couch watching television and I smelled my Grandmothers perfume. It gave me such a sense of comfort that I really enjoyed it, and I felt she was surely watching over me. I had been extremely close with my grandmother.

I am a sensitive, all of my life, ever since I can remember. I feel things, pick things up, but hardly anything about myself, just other people or places. So having my Grandma around made me feel so calm, she had died 10 days before the birth of my son. For months, I tried to get her to go to the doctor, as I had a feeling she was very ill. She blew it off and said my imagination was working over-time, she felt fine. I tried in vain to the point of even dragging her to my car, but she wouldn't go. She died of a blood clot that went to her brain. All of a sudden she was just gone from my life.

I had never tried to increase my ability and I decided maybe it was time to look into it. Dumb as I was, I didn't seek help from other people. I went off on my own. I hunted and hunted, bought books left and right. I found an old book at a flea market one day. It was a book on witchcraft, most of it was in Latin. That night, I laid in bed reading, I am one of those people that read a book in one day? LOL I found this incantation to raise the dead. I will forever remember the words, but will never in my life speak or write them again. For what I conjured up was very evil. I did what the book said, it didn't work at first so I kept trying. I wanted to talk to my Grandma so badly, I knew she was near and all I had to do was open a door for her to come to me. Oh, way wrong!

Suddenly, the entire room seemed to shake. For the first time in my life, something paranormal scared me. I threw the book in the corner of my bedroom, grabbed my son and hid under the covers praying for whatever I did to go away, asking the Lord to help me. Then nothing. For a long time nothing? So, I figured I had worked myself up and imagined that this happened. Until, things did start happening.

From what I could pick up, whatever I had called was evil in nature. Though, it seemed to like me and by this time I had another son. The entity would play tricks, hiding things on me. Waking us up in the middle of the night by turning everything on, television, stereo, etc. And by this time my husband turned into somebody I didn't know anymore. I wrote it off to we married too young. We divorced, the kids and I stayed in our apartment. I would tell people about the crazy happenings in my home, nobody believed it. So, we all seemed to live together, including my Grandmother whose Chantilly I smelled more and more.
Activity picked up, when I got in my car someone would say, "Hi Peggy!" The boys. then 5 years and 3 years started complaining that their rocking horse in their bedroom was mean? The stove has this little trick it did quite often. It wasn't on, the burner sparked, it shook and the teapot fell off. It happened the same way every time. My Grandmothers antique clock quit working, but at times would start chiming? I still didn't feel that uncomfortable having had odd things happen all of my life.

My best friend married a man that was into the paranormal. I asked him to come over and let me know what he thought, maybe something would happen and he could help. I started getting this feeling that this entity was draining energy from my children. Vickie and Ron came over one day, I made dinner and really wanted someone to speak to about this. When they arrived, Vickie walked in, Ron stopped a couple steps inside the door, and proclaimed I had to move! He wanted to leave, and they did. He never came back, but I did talk to him at his home and he said I should be very afraid. I told him what I had done years ago. He told me what I had done was invite it, then I accepted it into my home. I asked him if I moved would it follow me, he didn't know.

I was dating and decided to remarry. Even though things in the apartment we not often and we definitely were not terrified, it got allot worse when my new husband moved in. He immediately freaked out. The entity became very active, showing it didn't care for my new husband. One night I came home from work and he was about insane, said he'd been playing his guitar standing in the middle of the living room and something walked around him in circles. Another time, he got home from work and I said "why don't you take a shower before we have dinner?" The shower immediately turned on full blast, scalding hot water. Objects were missing more frequently. One that was really odd, we took a late honeymoon and went to Florida. I lost my drivers license, it was in my cigarette case. It totally ruined our vacation, I was young and looked 16 years old, even though I was 22. Nobody would let me drink without ID. Our honeymoon turned into a big fight more or less. We got home, I went and got another license. About a month later, we woke up one morning and there was my cigarette case on the end of my dresser, out of the blue?
My husband and I worked on the same shift and a neighbor babysat the boys. My sister Kat stopped over her apartment to see the kids. They were talking and my sis brought up a dress that my mother in-law had made for me which was really odd! It was like a caftan, green, red, gold and one year I wore it to a Halloween party as a Christmas tree with a star on top of my head! LOL My babysitter wanted to see the dress, and my sister said that Peg wouldn't mind if we went in and I showed it to you. My sister and sitter both said when they unlocked the door, everything in the apartment went nuts. A music box started, the broken clock chimed, and doors and drawers opened and shut. My sister swore to me she would never step foot in my home again. My baby sitter quit.

A few nights later, my husband and I were sitting down watching television after work, and his tongue started swelling up. It got really bad, I had to beg my sister to come over to take him to the hospital. The ER doctor found no reason why this happened? He almost choked to death on this own tongue that night.

My husband after that said, "we are out of here now!" But everytime we found another place to live it fell through. So, we decided that we weren't going to talk about the next place we found, and just up and move one morning. He felt whatever it was, it wanted me to stay.

Well, we did it. We found a condo, said not one word in the apartment and got up one morning and just moved everything out.

Later that week, a young boy (15) Alan, came to visit me. He lived in the same building as we did. He asked me if strange things ever happened in my apartment. I told him to go on.........he said that in the basement he hears footsteps and they go right through the door. He said he was hearing allot of things and he asked me if I would talk to his dad and ask him to move. I kept in touch with a few people from Blue Gardens and it seems this whole building was having occurrences, although none matched mine. One odd thing is my oldest son, who had never slept walked, kept trying to get out of our new home nightly saying he had to go home. Finally it stopped.

This happened in Michigan, I am now in Ohio. But I always find time to drive by Blue Gardens and my old apartment from 20 years ago is almost always empty. I am sure I know why! Blue Gardens, 125 Hubbard Court seems to still be haunted!
