| A few years ago, before attaining my driver's license, my driver instructor let me know that I've had slightly over-average peripheral vision, something that I've used from that day forward.
Now, let's skip ahead about ten years as I enter a friend's house. Upon entry, my beloved peripheral vision narrows to nothing more than an odd feeling of 'tunnel-vision', in that I could not see anything unless it was directly before me.
As I walked about the house with my friend, I kept feeling something either against my leg, or tripping over something. And, again, my dependance on my regular vision was limited, I had to tilt my head down to see what it was I was tripping on. I tried to rationalise it by thinking that it was just simply the carpet or some such nonesense.
However, when my friend and I left his childhood home, my vision returned, and I felt a little ill with it doing so. He had, as well, advised me that he had owned a cat that was dear to him. And that this same cat was very protective and jealous of its owner, my friend.
To this day, I am still on the thought that it was this cat who was... testing me. Gods, it freaked me out.
