| I had practiced Astrology and had done many tarot card readings in my life and gave it up because of the crazy things that were happening to me. I associated those crazy things with the card readings and I promised myself that I wouldn't do them anymore, but I still enjoy a good ghost story or two.
My husband and I like to spend the night at haunted bed and breakfasts here in Pennsylvania and various other places close to Pennsylvania.
We decided to stay at the Farnsworth Inn in Gettsyburg, which still has the cannon ball holes on their wall. It is one of the most haunted hotels in that area. It has several haunted rooms and we stayed in the Jenny Wade Room, which is the second most haunted room in the Inn. From the minute I stepped into that room I was spooked. It had a closet which when opened was a brick wall. That freaked me out and the bathroom was the most spookiest of all.
That night was one of the worst nights I have ever had. That night I tossed and turned; I could not sleep, despite the fact that I had had a couple glasses of wine to relax me. I finally fell asleep around 4 AM and was awakened suddenly by someone whispering in my ear. I thought it was my husband and turned over in the bed and he was sound asleep. Well, need I tell you that I was awake the rest of the night and prayed for dawn. All night there was walking up and down the corridor outside our room. I thought that some one else couldn't sleep either.
The next morning the other couple that was staying there were having breakfast and I mentioned that I couldn't sleep from all that walking up and down the corridor and he said he heard it also and it kept him and his wife up all night.
We left the hotel and a few weeks later we were watching a show about the most haunted hotels in America on the History Channel and they mentioned the Farnsworth Inn and how the Jenny Wade Room where my husband and I slept had ghostly happenings there and reported that a woman and her husband had slept there and she was awakened by someone tickling her ear. They had found out that a young boy was hit by a horse and carriage outside and was brought to that room. The little boy eventually died and the father paced the floor outside the room all night. The little spirit boy likes to play tricks on the women who sleep in that room by tickling their ears or whispering in their ears. I had goose bumps the rest of night thinking about that night.
Yes Virginia, there are such things as ghosts!
