| My dad lives in a two family house made of orange brick on an old brick paved street with porch houses, made years ago. My whole family has lived here for years. My Grandma lives in the first floor apartment and my dad in the 2nd. My parents are divorced and I see my dad on weekends.
One weekend, my dad was doing yardwork in the yard and asked me to go upstairs to get him a shovel. I went upstairs and got it, and went back through the basement towards the yard. I heard water pouring into the toilet in the basement bathroom, and then a flush, so I figured my dad was in there. I went out into the yard and he was out there. I asked him about the bathroom. My grandma was away on vacation in NJ, and he told me that the bathroom had not had water running through it for years. The wtaer had been shut off to that bathroom a long time ago. I was very confused.
One night, I was lying in my bed, falling asleep, when all of a sudden my dog started barking and wouldn't stop. I heard the stairs in the hallway creaking, as if someone was coming up. When I finally got enough courage to check if it was my dad, it wasn't, my dad was sound asleep, snoring on the couch.
Another morning, I heard someone leave the apartment, go down the stairs, and out the front door. I figured it was my dad going to the store. I decided to get up and get something to eat. I walked into the living room and my dad says to me, "hey you want breakfast?" like he didn't hear anything.
My dog is constantly waking me up in the middle of the night by barking, but since then I haven't heard the steps in the hall for a while, or the bathroom in the basement. I told my mom about it, and she said that maybe it was my grandfather who was drunk very often and once said to my mom that he was going to haunt her until the day she dies. I believe it was my grandpa, maybe checking up on us all, or just roaming the house that he had lived in for years. Sometimes when I stay at my grandma's, I hear footsteps upstairs, when my dad is at work. Maybe im just hearing things, but if I was, would my dog hear it too?
